Formally organized on the 12th of August in 2006, the Ars Cantica Ensemble is a choral group composed of young professionals from different university choirs who want to spread the Word of God through musical talent and commitment to service.

In just a year, the Ars Cantica Ensemble has already developed a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical songs, sacred hymns, and Filipino and international songs. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition.

In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was the featured choir at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. They had their first TV appearance on the Christmas Eve episode of The Sobrang Gud Nite Show on Qtv.

In February 2010, the Ars Cantica Ensemble bested other choirs to win First Runner-Up in the Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. In line with this, the group recorded two tracks in the inspirational album, Sa ‘Yo Lamang, produced by Ms. Jamie Rivera under Star Records, which included a duet with singer Juris for the theme song of the movie Sa ‘Yo Lamang, produced by Star Cinema. The Sa ‘Yo Lamang album, which features other artists such as Eric Santos, Aiza Seguerra and Chin-Chin Gutierrez, among others, has been endorsed by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

Furthermore, the group had the privilege to be part of the Pasinaya 2011 held on February 6 at the CCP, joining the Philippine Madrigal Singers and other prestigious choral groups in singing “Mi Ultimo Adios” and “Bayan Ko” in the finale.

As a testimony to its spiritual commitment and unwavering dedication to its music ministry, the Ars Cantica Ensemble continues to serve at the Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace (EDSA Shrine); Santo NiƱo de Paz Chapel (Greenbelt) in Makati; at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Chapel and at the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord (SM Megamall Atrium) in Mandaluyong.

Cezua's Birthday Celebration

One of Ars Cantica Ensemble's sopranos (dragonessa) celebrated her birthday on January 4, 2009 at the EDSA Shrine. She was serenaded by the boys with the song "Iniibig Kita" (composed by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab) and a series of funny pictorial folowed (as usual). :)
